#1 Post by dorin » Tue Feb 14, 2006 4:54 pm

hi there,

of course i want to use the latest software, BUT after i install the 4.11a version wireless is dead! says that aditional driver or software needs to be installed, but WHICH?!?! they only mention you need at least 9.0.2.1 or 3.1 and i use the latest one 9.0.3.9....

so anybody ideas?!

thanks,

it means update the wireless drivers as well.

i'd recommend the absolute latest generics from intel.com if using theirs.

if atheros, use IBM's

dorin, i would suggest moving back to an earlier version of AC. I've been reading (as I'm sure you have) other folks' stories of their experiences with 4.11a and they haven't been all that positive. I'm sticking with 4.01 for now.

The other thing I would suggest, and again this is from reading other posts, is to install/uninstall any AC version manually (i.e., not through Software Installer).

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

honestly it was abit annoing that no documentation (or very poor one) is available plus the longer booting time due to the use of .net made me go back to AC 4.01, just goes smooth!

but sadly i would say that i never thought i'd be dissapointed by IBM (lenovo now, yeap i know) update service! i sincerely hope this would be the only time.

Dorin im having problems with 4.11a as well. I fixed the problem you are referring to by installing the wireless drivers located at C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANCX2A\Drivers\SetupWLD.EXE

Im still having a problem with AC sometimes working and sometimes not. Sometimes it loads fine and i can switch profiles without issue and sometimes it doesnt load and when i try to manually start it, it just hangs and will eventually load if i wait long enough (sometimes 20 minutes or more) but no profiles are available. Ive tried everything i can think of to resolve the issue but have not been able to as of yet.

ok, now that ibm released the latest driver for 2200bg (9.0.4.*) it works no pb!
i noticed that if you update the windows with the patch for net 1.1 then will start as fast as before, so the problem with delaied booting time is now solved!

it took them one week but they've come with the solution!
