I know this has been discussed on this forum but I simply cannot find the thread.
I have installed a Hitachi 80 GB 7200 rpm drive in my new X32 but as it lacks the side screws which are present on the original 5400 rpm drive, the two loops of the plastic cover of the drive bay have nothing to hold on to and the drive moves around and disconnects.
Does anyone know if these tiny screws can be purchased or if there is a solution to this problem?
Thanks
X32 hard drive replacement
Screws
I don't know if it's like my X20, but I just used the screws from the old drive. If this isn't an option, any computer store should have them. Also don't forget hobby shops. Model plane kind, not arts & crafts, thay have ton of little screws and bolts, nuts etc for the hobby.
Hard drive screws
Ted, thanks for the feedback. I think I might not have pushed the new drive all the way in when I installed it the first time because everything is fine now. If it disconnects again, I'll try your suggestion of using the screws of the old drive.
