Let's just hope they come out with the X32 and not the X41 as the latter is a step backwards for IBM...

If "a step backward" you mean the integrated vid card, then yes; otherwise, what's so bad about the X40?

1.8" (ie non-standard) hard drive, small palmrest, video card and build quality is what I would call moving backwards. The X31 was IMO the best lightweight laptop around, it would be a shame if they discontinued it like that. Oh, and it sell very well too.
