Nice red foam molds to laptop. Fits my X40 with the base just fine. Neat black on black IBM logos on the zipper protector flap.

I love the low key branding.

Fits all my essential gear.

Bottom pocket fits the adapter cord well. I believe an extra battery will fit also.

The upper left pocket fits my external hard drive and cable with room to spare.

The Treo fits perfectly!

Let me know what you guys think. Any questions or comments are welcome.

hi,

do you have the part number for this product? is it 73P5186?

do you carry this around inside a backpack or messenger back, or does it have straps?

i'm looking to fit an X41 w/ 8-cell battery in there... would it fit an extra inch on the back of your X40?

thanks!

Yeah I carry it around in a backpack. Your X41 will fit nicely. I read somewhere that a guy fit his X series with an 8 cell but was a little tight. I don't have an 8 cell but know you can fit a battery in one of the side pockets with the AC adapter. I plan to get an extra battery and keep one of them in the side pocket. I keep my UltraDock connected when I put it in the sleeve. That adds an extra 1/2 to 3/4 inch. This is a very nice and cheap sleeve/case. I got mine for about $25.

I also have the same case that came with my computer when I purchased it in Taiwan. Recently, I used this case for my X40 w/ 8 cell on my trip to New York.

It is a *very* tight fit, so you’ll need to apply a bit of pressure in order to close the zipper around it. Once you zip it up, however, everything will be fine.

The case does offer some protection, but I often worry about the lack of protection on all but one of the sides. As well, the rubbery material of the case is somewhat delicate, but for the price, it’s still a good bang for the buck.

So where does one go about getting one of these? Where did you find one for $25?

The part number mentioned does not seem to be the one.

Just google "ThinkPad Office Executive Case." This should yield plenty of options to choose from. I found a refurbished one for $11.99 during my recent froogle search.
Part number? Well it's actually a Targus made item so, Mfr. Part # is ONS008US.
