Please Help

I have somehow turned on the 10 key function on my thinkpad and can not figure out how to turn it off.

Please help me to get it turned off so I can type again.

You mean the NUM lock?

yes there is a 10 key pad that is on the key board and it is mixed in with the letters. I tried hitting the num lock key but it wouldn't turn off. I just figured out how to turn it off. I had to hold shift down and press num lock and than it turned it off.
