x40 questions

Does the 8 cell battery bulge out of the laptop?
Also, is the ultrabase handy or a waste of volume?
How does a well-equipped x40 compare to a 12" powerbook (assuming both had equal ram)?

The 8 cell does protrude out the back, however it is different than the T series in that it covers the whole back side so it just seem to make the whole laptop a little deeper than the standard battery.
I think the ultrabase would come in very handy.
You can put an extra HD in it or an optical drive also I beleive it will also
except the ultrabay slim battery.
Plus even with the ultrabase and an optical drive you are still at only 4.9lbs about the same as a 14" T series.

does the ultrabase snap onto the x40 easily, or is it an annoying procedure?

AFAIK the X40 just sits down in to the Ultrabase and connects through the docking port.
