Has anyone had any issues like this on the x31:

Also, again the dead/stuck pixel issue on the x31. I so far have ordered like 10 x31's in the past and noticed that only 2 out of the 10 came pixel dead/stuck FREE... this is so sad on such a high quality computer. You would think they would ironed out most of the problems associated with 12" screens by now, especially since they have 16" laptop screens these days!!!

Funny you should bring that up actually, I got an X31 used a couple of weeks ago, it's about a year old.
Now, when I got it I was disappointed to find out that the bottom left portion of the keyboard can be quite loud when pressed/typed on, and this was beceause of a small gap between it and the large plastic area beneath it. I cured that by putting a folded sticky label in the plastic area just beneath it and now the keyboard is great. I reckon it could happen on other X31s too because there's nothing to hold down that area of the keyboard.

I have had none of these problems. No dead pixels, keyboard works great, very tight, firm and deliberate with the "IBM feel" I've loved over the years. Maybe I'm lucky??leesiulung wrote:Has anyone had any issues like this on the x31:

Well you have to consider that I removed the keyboard a couple of times to fit a wireless card to it, it's possible that the bottom left corner got bent out of shape in just such a way that it'd make that noise.
I still think it's a mild problem though because it's not secured as well as it was on the X20 series.
