ABG card with the BG antenna?

#1 Post by seneca » Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:28 pm

As it says in my sig, I changed the wlan card from the intel 2200BG to the Atheros ABG for better support (in linux). But I haven't tried "A" yet, only the 2.4Ghz ones. I used the original antennae cables in my X40, main and aux, but I don't know if it'll work with 5Ghz networks.

Will I burn the wlan card or just get poor reception when using 5Ghz?
(I'm planning on building my home network with 802.11a)

The antennae are the same in all X40s, there's no internal difference between the ones that ship with the b/g card and those that ship with the a/b/g card.
