ultabay booting, possible?!

#1 Post by dorin » Sun Apr 16, 2006 2:15 pm

hi guys,

i'm thinkning in buying an 7200 hdd for the docking for my x40, and i wonder if its possible to make that hdd as primary and boot from it, it'd resolve the issue of slow 4200 hdd...

i remember that once somebody mentioned sg like he did it, but cannot find it.

admin, pls, is any way to make the search more acurate (ie giving results only in the names of the post not within as well, or search for word combinations?) dont kill me, just a question!

have a nice day,

dorin

Wouldn't that just be a matter of putting the particular drive to the front in the bios boot order? I have not tried it with a hard drive in the ultrabay, but I have booted my X41 both from a CD in the ultrabay-multiburner and from an external USB-hard drive, so I cannot really think of a problem using a drive in the docking station.(?)
