Power Manager Not Working?

#1 Post by Agentjam » Mon Apr 24, 2006 9:25 pm

At the bottom of my toolbar I have a green battery that displays battery percentage (Power Manager) and another small blue battery which indicates battery level as well (Power Meter).

Problem: I installed CHC (Centrino Hardware Control) then uninstalled it a few days later because I didn't like it...I think there was an option when I uninstalled CHC that asked if I wanted to delete profiles, I clicked YES and then later found out I had no profiles in Power Manager. Power Manager wouldn't allow me to make any new profiles so i uninstalled Power Manager and reinstalled it.

After installing Power Manager again I have the original profiles, and I even made a new profile...BUT when I switch between the profiles nothing changes. To be honest the only way for me to change profiles is by clicking the blue battery (power meter) once and switching it there. Power Manager itself will not change profiles when I click another profile and "apply" it, then click "OK"

Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped and not able to take advantage of the Power Manager :-(

Thanks again,
Vince

Update,

I re-installed NHC and uninstalled it making sure to not delete the "settings" and now I have the ability to switch between the default profiles, BUT I still cannot switch to a profile that I create.

I spoke to an IBM tech and he recommended I run the repair utility off of an XP pro CD. He said that the problem is in windows. I did this and the problem has not changed.

Anyone have direction?

Thanks again,
Vince
