Hello,
Im trying to figure out if its possible to get DVI video output from the X40, with dock or port replicator and if so which one?
I'm trying to replace my Dell desktop and use only one PC, my X40. However, I have an LCD monitor that has a native resolution of 1600x1200. I can use the analog VGA input but it is pretty unusable at 1600x1200 and I don't want to go any lower.
Is DVI output possible? Some of the TP docks and port replicators have DVI output but I've been told that it doesn't work with DVI...
thanks in advance
x40: DVI output possible?
Re: x40: DVI output possible?
As far as I know the ThinkPad Dock II and Mini-Dock will work with the X40. Call IBM to make sure. The DVI should work just fine, but the DVI pass-through port's max resolution is 1280x1024. ATI VPU based ThinkPads' driver can be hacked to support 1600x1200 resolution via DVI, but I don't know about any hacked Intel Extreme driver that does the same.
