1) What optical drive options are there? What are the Ultrabay 2000 drives that can be used?

2) What's the latest and greatest optical drive possible? Will this work?

All Ultrabay 2000 drives should work. And there was a combo burner (or two) released by IBM.

The auction link is for a third party drive with the IBM Ultrabay connector. It may / should work, but you should await responses from others on using third party drives.
