Clip on speakers for x31?

#1 Post by ibmuser » Mon Aug 09, 2004 1:28 am

Anyone care to suggest clip on speakers (powered by USB) for laptops?
Sound on X31 is just horrible. I found this link, but need suggestions.

Especially from a laptop source, I wouldn't want to get speakers, because sound quality is really low. At work, I run a line to a low end Sony receiver and a pair of large bookshelves. For on the go and use with my mp3 player, I plan on getting some Ety ER-4Ps and run them through a BitHead. I would at least reccomend getting a pair of headphones for listening, but if you want speakers, I'd really reccomend a soundcard as well.

budder,

Good advice. Thanks so much. I have headphones for my own purposes, but I need something for audio presentations on the road.

For how many people and how close will they be? You may need an externally powered set of speakers (as opposed to USB or battery) if you have a large boardroom to present to as opposed to a more intimate 3 or 4 person meeting.

The audio is for fellow journalists - these are usually interviews and sometimes hard to hear. There's usually two or three of us hovering over the laptop so the sound doesn't have to project much.
