Would an X20 LCD work in an X31?

Just the raw LCD, not the plastic surround. Are the connectors on the back of the LCD the same? cheers.

Probably very different. I would recommend against fiddling with it until you secure more information, as the backlight CCFL might use a different voltage set, and forcing it could be BAAAAD.
(Burn out inverter and worse)

A safer bet is to note the model number of the LCD and do a specsheet search on the manufacturer site. If the specs look close enough it MIGHT work. Still, you are on your own for this one. Use prudent judgment.

No - will never work. They are completely different.
