I've got a X20, 2662-11U, i usually use it while its plugged in and i recently moved it from my desk to another room and re plugged it in in that room.
it looks to me like its similiar to the problems in this thread
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=
Upon plugging it back in it started to do the beep noise it does when you unplug or plug in the power to say if its on battery or not, but repetedly until i unplugged the power cable, and than at that point it powered down and gave me an error 0190 critical battery... with the screen sort of flickering slightly.
With battery inserted and power adapter plugged in it has this for lights on the system it gives me a orange blinking battery light when powered off, when i attempt to power it on it gives the green crescent moon shaped light briefly and than it goes away and begins the startup with the thinkpad logo and the screen slightly flickering in brightness but doesnt make it anywhere more than 10 seconds before giving a 0190 again and shutting down.
with out the battery in it still blinks the battery light orange and wont start at all, with out the power adapter and just the battery in it does the same thing.
tested voltage on the battery and it says around 15v DC and the power adapter gives me a wandering 14.2 to 16.2v DC i belive the manual says 15.5 to 17v dc it should be withen.. does it matter if its dipping below 15.5? im no electronics guru here..
pulled it apart didnt see any sort of power damage scorch marks (hey you never know..)
put it back together, removed the hdd and it sits there on the IBM thinkpad screen until i hit F1 or F12, than the screen changes to either entering bios or preparing boot device list and makes it no where, with the screen still flickering until the error code about battery kicks in again.
does this sound like a faulty power adapter, or a semi fried main board?

update: sorry for all that blurb.. i finally found a spare laptop power supply for a compaq with wattage rating near the required..
it works so it was my power adapter yay, got a proper one comming my way too instead of this 'near proper rating' one im using.
