X41 Battery Life

#1 Post by asiafish » Tue Jul 11, 2006 11:57 am

What is generally the most life that can be squeezed out of the X41 8-cell battery?

Mine is fully charged (only 3 cycles) and the gage only shows 4 hours with fairly aggressive power management. This is a new install of Windows XP and the battery was no used for a long time, would calibrating the battery help?

My X32 was rated at 5 hours and delivered that full amount. Can possibly expect 7 hours from the 8-cell X41 with processor slow, wifi off and screen dim?

You can try undervolting the cpu. Otherwise, I haven't seen any X41 review getting over 6.5 hours.

Are there known safe undervolting values for the X41?

It differs from CPU to CPU so you can't say:

As you see I wasn't able to get as low voltages for the higher speeds as billyb. But it's just a few days of work. You can just test one multiplier each day if you can live without your X41 more than one day at a time.
