X32 won't start

#1 Post by pjasek » Mon Jul 17, 2006 5:49 pm

All -

My X32 (2 months out of warranty) will not start. I press the power-on button and the caps & num lock lights blink once and that is it. No boot up sequence on the LCD, no HDD activity. I do hear the CPU fan humming. I've removed the CMOS battery and re-seated my HDD and two RAM DIMMs. All to no avail.

Has anyone run across this before? Any suggestions on how to proceed forward?

Thanks!
Paul

my experience with this symptom on an X31 resulted in replacing the system board. in my situation the system would occasionaly power on fully, but then would often times crash with various error messages, some of which inferred RAM issues. All of which ceased when I replaced the system board w/ one from ebay.

Since you are so recently out of warranty, I'd try to get some sympathy from Customer Relations or whatever they call the highest level of technical support.
