I noticed in your signature line that you have a new Black MacBook. How do you like it? I must admit I've been eyeing them. My Faithful PowerBook G4 Ti, needs a playmate... :D

The MacBook is terrific, though mine is currently at Apple getting a logicboardectomy. In its favor, my MacBook was one of the first, and the logic boards have been revised since then to run cooler. I hope I get the new board.

If you do buy a MacBook (or any Intel Mac) and plan to run Windows using Boot Camp, do yourself a favor and google a utility called "Input Remapper", this little gem gives you right click (FN+click or "Enter"), enables the FN-buttons for screen brightness and vollume and gives you a true delete key (FN+Delete, Delete on a Mac is "Backspace" to PCers).

The CoreDuo on the MacBook is every bit as fast as it is anywhere else, and witih 2GB RAM the thing really cooks (both in speed and temperature). The integrated GMA950 graphics aren't bad, and screen is simply to die for. I had btoh 12" and 15" PowerBooks and after getting the MacBook I sold them both. The 12" wasn't enough smaller and the 15" wasn't enough bigger to bother with. Except for travel, it makes a great only computer.

The black one has the added benefit of being somewhat "ThinkPadesque". The entire surface is rubber-like and reminds me of the ThinkPad 600E and X22 I used to own. The keyboard is strange-looking, but feels great once you give it a chance. I'd actually put it almost at ThinkPad level, better than my PowerBooks.

You could always pick up the cheapest one if you want a low-risk tryout. These things also hold their value well, so even if you decide it isn't for you, you won't lose much when you sell.

My question is Boot Camp or Parrallels?

Thanks for your quick response and useful tips....:D

Depends on what you want to do. I play games, so has to be Boot Camp. If you just want to run a non-graphics-intensive application then Parallels is the way to go.
