X41 tablet does not allow me to install DirectX 9.0c

I wanted to install Roxio 7.0 that required a pre-installed DirectX 9.0c. I was able to start the installation. It first downloaded from microsoft a small file dxwebsetup.exe, which woylg then get the big one (possibly 30-50 MB). but in just one minute it gave a message Finished installing with nothing actually installed.

Then I requested a friend who had the BIG FILE. I tried and the result was the same.

Now what to do? Microsoft does not support and redirects me to IBM. IBM also refuses to support the software. What to do?

Any body can tell me What next?

That's probably because it's already installed. I have DirectX 9.0c on my tablet now and it's running fine.

To check which version you have, open a Command Prompt window and type

Code: Select all

dxdiag

The version number is displayed on the resultant dialog box.

Yes It was already done probably in one of the many efforts that I hectically did. Thanx for your help. Shakespear said there are a million things (Count?) between heaven and earth that we do not know of.
