Thinkpad X41, a pretty good deal I think.

#1 Post by vvv » Tue Aug 15, 2006 6:14 pm

Now I have no affiliation what so ever with these people, I just bought one from them, and I think it's a pretty good price, so I thought I would share. It's $876 when you put it in your cart. Mine was shipped yesterday, if you are interested I'll let you know when it arrives. They have 7 left.

I noticed they have 3 in stock now. Nice price. If I hadn't just picked up an X60s for $950 shipped, I would probably jump on this.

Hi, vvv,

Is your x41 coming with factory sealed status? And what's the manufactured date?

Thank you.

Yeah, it came factory sealed in a thinkpad box, brand new. I just looked up the warranty on lenovo's site, full 3 year warranty with ezserve. I dono how to find out the manf. date, if you'll tell me where to find that I'll be happy to tell you.

Can you tell me your warranty expiration date?
Then the manf. date should approx. be the expiration date minus 3 years.
Thanks.

It's on the label with the model and serial numbers, last digits, e.g. 04/06.

If the seller is an Authorized Dealer or Reseller the warranty date starts on the day your Thinkpad is shipped to you, not the manufactured date. The date on the IBM site is usually the date the laptop was shipped to the dealer. If it's not correct on the IBM website all you have to do is fax a copy of your invoice to the IBM Entitlement Department and they fix it. I do this all the time.

PHONE: 1-800-426-8741 then option 2... option 2
or
FAX: 1-800-426-2744

Lenovo T60 (IPS) - Fujitsu ST5020D - Fujitsu Q2010 - Docks and accessories for each (and a roomfull of stuff I can't use.)

How'd you get an X60s for $950? What are the specs? Mine was $1888.95 after taxes shipped. I too was just thinking if I hadn't just bought this, I might go for that.

External Storage: 250GB + 500GB Porshce

T40 Project: (Planned) P-M 2GHz, 2GB, 100GB, DVDRW

I picked up an open box X60s on ebay from power seller I had purchased from before. The specs are fairly minimal... no bluetooth, no WWAN, no fingerprint reader. 256mb ram,60gb HD, L2400 cpu, intel a/b/g wifi. Aftermarket memory is pretty cheap so the memory wasn't a concern. I might want bluetooth at some point, but my tmobile MDA can also connect via USB as a WWAN modem so its not critical. One stuck blue pixel about 1/4 inch from right edge... but I figured would have one since it was an open box... for the cost savings, I can live with it.

Great deal on the X60s.
"An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf. As has been said before, we are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."
