Is this normal? IBM X21

#1 Post by pcnoob » Fri Aug 25, 2006 1:58 am

The spot where the inverter is is very hot when I turned the resolution to 1024x768. However, when I turn it to 800x600, it barely gets warm. I really want to use the higher resolution because it's easier to read everything.

Also, I seem to get some desorted graphics when I use the 1024x768 resolution for a while. I think that's about 1 hour. By that time the inverter gets kinda hot. I got the most grayed out/messy black/white blocks when I am using WMP 10. Other times when I use Firefox, the little circle thing on the far upper right corner will get complete black.

Is there anything possibly wrong with the parts in my x21? I never remember encountering this when I got it in the first 2~5 months.

I remember seeing some black and white block patterns while and after using a recent version of WMP on my X21. However, I've never noticed the area around the inverter getting hot.

Regards.
