X22 Wireless Ethernet Upgrade

#1 Post by artuero » Wed Sep 13, 2006 10:34 pm

Hi, I have an X22 2662-95U that does not have the wireless card. I bought an IBM a/b/g card, same one as is in my X41 tablet (Atheros is the OEM I think) that I find works well for me. However, the manual starts off by saying that there has to be a BIOS with an electronic handshake and that does not include my X22.

Q1 is does anyone know if the IBM (Atheros) card will work or if there is something I can do to make it work despite the "electronic handshake", or

Q2 can anyone recommend an a/b/g card that works well in either mini PCI or PCMCIA for the X22.

I have a IBMa/b/g with Atheros in my X22. It won't start the driver with Error 10 if I remember correct.

What I had to to was to change the device-type from Ethernet to Other to prevent the 01C9-Error with this tool:

Further Information about this: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_w ... et_devices

and then change the PCI-ID from 168c:1014 to 168c:0013 IIRC with this tool: http://www.dagarlas.org/stuff/computing/article0001.php (Search for idchanger)
