Video card\graphics card upgrade through PCMCIA?

#1 Post by red bioroid » Sat Oct 14, 2006 3:09 pm

Is there like a video card upgrade available in the market place through the PCMCIA for the x40?

I want to load some games on my thinkpad and hook it through the LCD monitor, but the games won't run as good on its current graphics card capabilities. No , don't tell me I need a desktop for doing that ...
Feb 2008=Thinkpad X61s; 2x faster than X40 but not as asthetic.
Dec 2005=Thinkpad X40; perfect, but bigger than 240x.
Jan 2005=Thinkpad 240x; used; fast but dead pixels doomed it.
2003=Thinkpad 240; used,
1998=new Toshiba Tecra 740CDT. Pricey, heavy & last 5 year.

Never heard of an option upgrading the video card via PCMCIA. IIRC, the only option is to use the Dock II's half-size PCI slot. Run a search here on the X-Series forum, I remember reading a thread about this subject. A couple of members successfully accomplished that.

Sorry, my bad. I just ran a search and found out that Dock II is not compatible with X40.
