X21 hanging on probing IRQ11 - Help! (eek!)

#1 Post by sfaoldun » Thu Nov 02, 2006 8:23 am

Hi all,
I've just reformatted my X21 to start afresh and now it fails to boot the install CD for Ubuntu 6.10 ... it hangs on the following:

Code: Select all

[Timestamp] ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [LNKC] enabled at IRQ 11
[Timestamp] ACPI: PCI Interrupr 0000:00:0a.1[A] -> Link [LNKC] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, as I'm completely stumped on this one. :P

Did you verify the CD with the installer to make sure there were no defects in the software?

I also have an X21 and I was able to dual boot Edgy and XP just fine - even ACPI seems to finally work.

It seems as though the problem I was having was actually due to a bug in Ubuntu Edgy and my IRQ table, as I have just popped my Xubuntu Dapper disc in and it has no ACPI problems.

I did do a media check beforehand, as that disc was also used in my desktop machine.
