Can I use a (non-IBM) Intel 2200BG mini-pci on my x31? From other posts, it appears the machine checks the card and won't boot if there's a non-IBM version installed (unless you hack cmos or bios). But if I look on IBM's web site, I see
This package provides the Wireless LAN driver for Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
This package supports Wireless LAN installed models of the following systems:
- ThinkPad R50, R50p, R51
- ThinkPad T41, T41p
- ThinkPad T42, T42p
- ThinkPad X31, X40
Does this mean the Intel version works or is it just that the web site is unclear?
