Ultrabase X4 GB-ethernet?

Does the X4 Ultrabase support 1Gbit Ethernet?

I mean, does it "pass-through" the built in NIC (1Gbit) or does the Ultrabase have another NIC (100mbit) built in?

And another thing, Can I use the extended life battery with the u-base?
Thinkpad x220 Li7-2620M 8gb/80gb mSATA intel 320SSD/160gb Intel 330 (didn't fit, had to remove the aluminium shell)
