X22 and T23 ac adapters

I have a T23 and an X22. Can I use the T23 ac adapter with my X22? A friend of mine says yes but not to use the reverse...don't use the X22 with a T23. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

The X22 uses a 56 watt AC adaptor, the T23 uses a 72 watt AC adaptor. Your friend is right in that you shouldn't really use the lower wattage adaptor with the T23, but it's unlikely you'd have many problems other than maybe the battery draining slightly under heavy loads. I've also heard that it can cause minor problems with the screen and that certain laptops are made for certain wattage adaptors but I'm uncertain about that.

It won't make anything explode, so it can't hurt to try at least.

It works ok. The battery won't charge as fast and it might need to use battery power under heavy load but all in all it works just fine.

Look under your laptop for the amperage specs and then look for the power adapter's specs. The adapter you want to use should have an equal or greater ampere spec than that of the laptop. In other words, if the laptop says 3.36A, it's OK to use a 4.5A adapter. If the laptop says 4.5A, it's NOT ok to use a 3.36A adapter... The Watt specs shouldn't be much of a worry...
