python.exe & ucgather.exe errors when bootup w/docking b

#1 Post by tokyo_x40 » Fri Jan 12, 2007 12:19 am

Could there be a different boot sequence if the docking base is present at boot?

These error appears at WinXP bootup, at the "welcome" screen.

python.exe - Application Error
X The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142). Click on OK to terminate the appliation.

ucgather.exe <-- same exact error, except for window title

Clicking OK, OK, about 60 second later the WinXP boot WAV plays. About 60 seconds after that the task bar icons get to Access IBM and it reports that wireless connected OK. 60 seconds later the ucgather.exe error appears again. About 30 seconds after clicking OK, it seems to be done with boot.

If the computer boots from off without the base, it boots fine. I can dock it, and everything works fine. My work around is to rarely do a full shutdown. (Only doing this to try and get my bluetooth headset to work) The base has the standard DVD-ROM in it only, with AC power. This boot error behavior happens regardless of whether or not the battery is in.

... can anyone help me find which application/driver is causing these errors? Thanks
