X23 Compatible 100Gig 7200rpm HD? Seagate?Hitachi?

#1 Post by SFGuyx23 » Fri Jan 19, 2007 6:33 pm

Hello Everyone,

Couldn't find anything specific for the X23....but would either drive below work with the x23? I called seagate and they said that they haven't tested it for the x23 and wasn't able to get a response from hitachi.....

1) if they both do work...which one would you choose?

2) If neither of them is compatible, what would work? (I just want to upgrade from my 30GB HD.

Thanks!

1) Seagate Momentus 100GB 2.5" PATA Notebook Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 8MB Buffer

2) Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 100GB 2.5"

I've never had any problem with my X2* taking any HD drive. I have the Hitachi 7200rpm 80GB 8MB buffer and it's had no problem in the machine.

I just noticed that you own four of the five X2* Thinkpads! What's the reason for collecting and keeping so many of them? I have owned three X20's and two X22's (sold one just last week) and think they are the most beautiful Thinkpads ever made.
