New X41, 512 MB RAM, says only 504?

So, I picked up one of these from BUY.com, had a 10% off coupon, which made it sweeter?

But, when I check the system configuration, it shows only 504MB ram, is that normal?

it TOO didn't come with the OPTICAL drive in the dock, which is a bummer, but for 900$ I might be able to live with it.

The HD seems to make a nice constant CLICKING sound though, wonder if I can silence it?

Yes, because the integrated graphics card steals some from the system RAM.
