Rescue and recovery asks for password

I have not passworded any aspect of my TP X41 Tablet, I can get into the bios and make any alterations I choose ,I can load and delete software, in short I can do anything I like apart from a R & R.
Whats my problem and where is this elusive password , is it on a chip or on the HDD. Comments please, Thank you, Rand
