X22 - boot from external CD?

#1 Post by Todd_fromthe_frozen_north » Sat Feb 24, 2007 9:36 am

Hey all,
I have a former work-X22, I'm rebuilding it for use at home.
For work-policy reasons, I have to wipe it completely before reinstalling XP. My plan is to boot it to DOS, and run 'gdisk' (like 'fdisk' but stronger), but...

I can't make it DOS boot from the external CD/floppy drive (attached via a PC-MCIA card)... even though I've tried all the BIOS boot settings, I can't get it to boot from the CD.

I have confirmed the CD is bootable by booting it in a PC... comes up in DOS just like I would expect.

Any help from the X22 Wizards? I'm stuck.
Thanks for all advice!

2nd post - but it's going into the wrong forum!

Sorry all,
I just read my first post - which I posted in the "X" forum and which ended up in the "T" forum.

So - I imagined I had posted it in the wrong forum by mistake.

So - I reposted it in the "X" forum and it again ended up here.

I'm confused. I'll follow up with the admins.
