SoundMax + Skype Problem

I have just reinstalled windows on my x31, but skype is playing up. It makes no noise when someone rings me.

I think it is because of the Soundmax controller that was automatically installed by the IBM installer utility.

I can't remember my previous audio configuration, but it wasn't soundmax.

Can anyone recommend a controller - or the default controller preinstalled on an x31?

First, did you check Skype's sound setting to make sure that sound is enabled and not muted? Do you have sound in other applications?

Not 100% sure why, but it is now fixed.

I did several things - uninstalled apps powergramo and pamela basic.

then reinstalled pamela pro.

not sure if that was the fix but all is fine.

Just one thing - how do i get rid of the powermax control panel app - all i need is the driver right?
