X31 Ultrabase problem - Help - urgent!!!

#1 Post by mhuels » Thu Mar 01, 2007 5:43 pm

Help !!!

my thinkpad X31 is stuck on its ultrabase ... physically stuck !!!

When pulling the lever on the left of the base its missing the usual "click and lift" of the laptop when its ready to be lifted out .... when tilting the whole thing from side to side I hear a rattle of some plastic (?) piece inside ... seems like the undock mechanism's plastic doodad that separates the two pieces is broken ... so is there a way to get the two apart - like in the olden days when a diskette was stuck in the drive there was this hole on the front of the drive to put the pointy end from paperclip which then activated the eject mechanism manually ... like an emergency manual override ... anything like this exist to separate the thinkpad X31 from its ultrabase???

Any help greatly appreciated ... don't want to resort to the screwdriver hammer combo :-(

Cheers

Michael
