X41 won't start, nothing at all

#1 Post by cduley » Tue Mar 06, 2007 1:57 am

Hello everyone,
I've had my x41 for a year and a half now, and I've always loved it so much and taken great care of it. I am curently using it a little less than I used to as I got my desktop back and am not travelling as I used to.
A few days ago I tryed turning it on but nothing happens. I didn't drop it or anything in particular in the last weeks, When I pres the power button, nothing turns on, no screen and none of the lights under the screen.
I only have the battery one turning on when it's charging.
Unfortunatly there is no warranty anymore and I am completly clueless. I tried removing my extra memory , pluging in and out the keeboar but nothing won't change.

Any idea? What could have happpenned?

Thank for you time and help
Charlou

What color is the battery light when you charge it? Have you tried turning on the computer with just the AC adapter plugged in, and the battery pulled out?

Yes I have tried all the combinations with or with out the battery and AC adapter. The light used to be orange because my battery was almost empty but it’s been charged since then (at least charging work) and the light is now green.
I really don’t understand what can have happened.
Cheers.

Any idea? I am really desperate.

I've been told it's the mother board. what do you think ?

could I change it myself ? if yes where to find one and for how much ?

Is it a common problem on X4x ??
Please just help me with a diagnostic.

Thanks

Charles
