how to accelerate the x40?

#1 Post by adam1314 » Fri Mar 09, 2007 9:23 am

Hi, guys. I think every one who uses a x40 or x41 is struggling with its 4200 rpm 1.8 inch hdd. I tried to add a 1GB memory and close the virtual memory which will reduce the read and write to hdd. However, it does not show a dramatic improvement. Is there some one who would like to share his or her ideas about accelerating the x40 series laptop? Thank you.

Best regards

The best way is to install a new copy of Windows XP without any of the factory-installed bloatware. Just borrow an OEM WinXP installation disc from a friend and use the product key on the bottom of the X40 (the product key makes this legal).
Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP
