should I change backlight?

#1 Post by boon » Fri Mar 16, 2007 12:10 pm

When I compare an 2-3 yrs old x31 and 1 yr old T42 lcd, the x31 seems to be really low in brightness, especially in battery mode. Now I wonder if it is the backlight getting dim as I've come to known that both models have 150 brightness.

The T42 one is not flex view and is only 1024x768. It doesn't really bothers me with low brightness on ac but does a bit when running on battery. Is it the backlight on the x31 getting old and should be replaced?

Maybe, can you campare it with other X31? Maybe a T42 is not the best choice for campare.

I don't have other x31's though, But I compare a fujitsu T4010 tablet, and the tablet sure is brighter due to it having 180 brightness, but the tablet still have lower brightness than the T42.

I don't think it bothers very much as things are readable and seeable when using medium brightness on battery. I guess it's just the T42 have much brighter brightness for some reason....
