Quickcheck on a wireless x31 question

#1 Post by dmar » Fri Mar 30, 2007 2:04 am

Will a T43 wireless card [93P4235] - Intel - CALEXICO2 802.11A/B/G MINI-PCI CARD work in an x31? Will it physically fit in the mini-pci slot? I don't want to take off the keyboard and palm rest to find out.

Sorry, The T43 wifi card is a mini pci express format card. The x31 uses plain old mini pci cards.

They are not compatable, they are not electrically or physically compatable. :(

Yandar,

That's really useful info. Thanks for saving me the hassle of popping off screws and components on my x31.

No problem. I know from experience, what a pain it is to remove all those screws and covers. :)

I don't own T43 but I don't think the T43 use mini pci express. mini pci express are on core duo laptops.

boon,

You are right, the T43 don't use a mini express card it uses a mini pci card like the one that can be seen on the link.

mini pci
X32/2.0GHZ/2GB/ENGENIUS EMP-8602+S 600mw mini pci/WD 250GB
X60/1.83GHZ/2GB/Atheros/7K100

Cmarti,

Thanks for your input. Now it's at a 1:1. 1 that says it will not work, and 1 that says it might. Can anyone confirm to give me that swing vote? Again, would really hate to take the screwdriver to my x31 to find out.

T43 has only wireless mini pci. I have seen this in person.

Also, I upgraded my X31 to wirless a/b/g, and it was mini pci.
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

It will work.

Only diff between them is that the T43 will have a Dothan P-M and the X31 will have an Banias.
