Win XP installation files inside hard-disc? how to check?

#1 Post by msafi » Thu Apr 05, 2007 12:21 pm

I want to re-format my X40 and I would like to know if the installation files are already in the hard-disc or if I'll need to get CDs from IBM/Lenovo.

How can I check?

Thanks,

You should search for a folder called I386. If you want to use those installation files is OK, but you should re-master a bootable CD with Nero Burning Rom, with the bootfile containing the commands that makes the CD bootable, just google Microsoft Corporation.img and see what I mean. Also you may want to backup the IBMTOOLS, DRIVERS to have all your laptop drivers handy.
