x41t wrong type number

#1 Post by wilks » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:21 am

Hi All, I have a x41 tablet that is displaying the type number as a 2866-3GM instead of a 1866-3GM, this incorrect type number is also being sent when trying to use system update application so no updates are ever found. Have installed latest BIOS but still not working.

Has anyone else experienced this and even better...know how to resolve???

Cheers
Chris

When you installed your new bios did it ask you if you wanted to change your model number?

Yes it did but it only allows for model number change not type, so I can change the 3GM not 2866. I did not attempt a change though as the model number was correct.

Where did you get this machine from?
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
