Light-weight backpack for X40

#1 Post by PaulO » Wed Oct 06, 2004 10:43 am

Can anyone recommend a very light weight backpack-style bag for the X40? Many backpacks weigh over two (even 3) pounds, which seems to defeat the purpose of going with a subnotebook. Ideally, I would like a bag with a padded slot for the X40, so I don't have to take the computer in and out of an additional, stand-alone sleeve every time I remove it from the bag.

I picked up an STM Small Loop backpack shortly after I got my X40. Australian-made, and went around the world with me recently. Excellent, light-weight backpack designed specifically for laptops with 12" screens. Like you, i hate big bulky ones. Here's the website:

It fits with the extended battery (the 8-cell), but just. With the regular 4-cell, it would be perfect. It's a fabulous backpack.

Not actually having tried it myself I can point to Tom Bihn's Buzz backpack. It should fit the X40 with an 8 cell if the information on their webpage is correct, and it's only 1.64 lbs. It's out of stock though... doesn't ship before november.
