X60 keep sounding off repeated beeps

#1 Post by weak_pig » Thu May 10, 2007 1:54 am

Anyone has any idea why my thinkpad keep sounding off repeated beeps out of no reason at all?
The beeps sounds like system beeps and they can occur at any time and suddenly beeps and suddenly goes away...

The beeps are loud beeps unaffected by the sound volume i set on my Windows. They are the same loud sound permitting out of the speakers.

Its really annoying when i have earphones stuck to my ears and watching youtube vids when the beeps sound off, they can practically take out a ear....

anybody knows whats happening? Please help. I have checked the accessibility options and Thinkvantage Battery options, of which all beeps and alerts are turned off.. Any other place you can think of ?

Um. Do you have any funky software installed on that machine? Lenovo Messaging center with the "Alert me when new messages appear" option turned on?

Does it replicate when you mute the system in its entirety?

Does it repeat if you use a Linux Thumbdrive (Like [censored]) to boot?

Reinstall the sound drivers?

If it keeps coming back it's time to open up an issue ticket with EZServ.
