Compatible Replacement Motherboards for an X20

#1 Post by QLi » Thu May 10, 2007 5:15 pm

I'm exploring the possibility of upgrading my X20 with a faster motherboard since the existing one is dead anyway. I remember reading somewhere that an X21 board would fit and work fine and X22 and higher boards won't work at all. Can anybody confirm this? Do I need a better fan if going with say an X21 board?

Thanks.

You can upgrade the X20 motherboard to an X21. They use all the same parts (such as fans, etc). Only exception is that some X21 LCDs will not work with an X20 because of voltage issues; but in this case, as long as your X20 is an XGA LCD, you won't have any problems with the upgrade.
