does anyone uses atheros in x40/41?

#1 Post by dorin » Fri May 25, 2007 6:20 am

hi guys,

so, initially the ibm driver for the atheros card gave me a lame reception (10% next to the router) then i've found on the net a driver for atheros cards, installed it, reception 100% anywhere in the house(including balcony which had a 80-90% before)

but this driver is not compatible with Fn+F5 function.
what driver do you use? is the Fn+F5 still working?!

thanks,
dorin

I would try an uninstall of all wifi drivers and keyboard/hotkey related drivers. Then show and remove all hidden old and current wifi adapters from the device manager (you need to add a line to your registry to show all hidden devices). Then reboot and install the IBM Atheros drivers. Then reboot and reinstall all the keyboard/hotkey drivers.

That should do it.

best is this one, http://www.phoenixnetworks.net/atheros.php

i wish i could use the ibm scan prog with it but the atheros prog is fine as well, this driver/prog combo is incredibly stable and is fast as hell
