X31 Hard drive cut in half!

I used rapid restore to make a backup, it partitioned my HD somehow so that i now only have 20gb free. i used to have 40. i know that 5gb is retained by the hidden partition backup, and 7 for the normal restore; how can i delete the last 7/8gb backup that i made? detailed instructions would help this newbie at immensely. Thanks!

I have a TPx31 40GB and I was looking for the same thing today!
I DID this before but I can't remember how.
Then I had to format and the 20GB have just gone.
I think I got them back because:
- installed the Rescue and Recovery
- uninstalled the Rescue and Recover
I am pretty sure there must a quicker way.

Unfortunatelly my XP is in Polish and my knowledge of the language is not enough to go throught the anyway un-understandable Xp Help
