[X30] Add BDC or BMDC

#1 Post by automatic_jack » Sat Jun 23, 2007 8:43 am

Hi all,

which Ibm BDC (Bluetooth Daughter Card) or BMDC (Bluetooth and Modem Daughter Card) models are compatible with X30? My 2672-42U has only a MDC (Modem Daughter Card)...so, is there a bios look?

And which antenna type do I need? Can you post an image, please?

Thanks and sorry for my English :)

Just looking at the System Service Parts for the T30, I see the following:

1. Item 6, Bluetooth daughter card (BDC) - 12P3872
2. Item 16, Louver Bluetooth antenna assembly 2 - 46P3042 replaces 46L4927

System service parts - ThinkPad T30

This will help you in disassemby and assembly of the T30.

As posted before on this subject...I finally tossed in the towel and gave up installing my genuine IBM BT card. It plugged in fine, the little mini-antenna worked fine. But, I could not maintain reliable connections and it would not work with my Logitech BT mouse. I then order a $12 dongle (which now sells for $6 shipped). It is BT 2.0 and works perfect. It is very small and somewhat fragil. But, for this price...it did the job.

Let us know how you do. There were no error codes with the internal card. The computer said I had BT...but the flaky operation was not worth my time.

Good luck.

IBM Bluetooth Daughter Card BDC01

(FRU: 12P3872 26P8071)

Is what the board was advertised to be...but what I got was:
F81427, FRU p/n: 12p3872. The board is made by TDK and is branded "IBM".

I assume they are the same part number sharing the same FRU. I ordered mine via eBay.
