Question about AC Adapter for X31

HI. I have IBM X31(2672C8G) model. I have one AC adapter, but i have to buy another one. I found some web sites that selling AC adapter for X31, but there is about 5 or 6 kinds.

information about my current ac adapter is:
P/N:08K8202
FRU P/N: 08K8203
Input: 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz
Output: 16V - 4.5A
Model: 08K8202

Can someone help me with choosing new ac adapter? :?

Just about anything will work on an X31 -- I have three different types of AC adapters for our two X31s. The nice small one is a 08K6810 (FRU 08K6816) but the bigger ones (from A/T/R series) will work as well as the X31 does not need a lot of power.

If you would like, you can post specific part numbers you are looking at and I can give you a thumbs up/down on those ...

Yes, that adapter will work. It is rated for 72 watts, as opposed to the original 56 watt version. The voltage is the same (16V), the plug's polarity is the same (center positive), but the 02K6699 adapter can supply up to 4.5 amps of current vs. the 3.36 amps that the ones that were supposed to come with the system from the factory.

Since your existing adapter is also 4.5A, then no worries.

... and the only downside is that the 72W adapters are somewhat larger.

You're so right. And if you use the AC/DC combo adapters (like I do sometimes), then those 72 watt supplies will seem small!
