can I connect external VGA of my X30 to the S-Video of my TV?

I have read on this forum that only certain notebooks, such as the Apple, output the necessary signals through the VGA jack for this to work. There are several threads in the T6x series forum on this.

From what I have read, this will not work with a ThinkPad.

Mmm, that Trust product would work, since it's an external box with the hardware inside to do the trick.

I don't know instead if it's managing to get the power from the vga cable or if it needs an external power cable.

I am unfamiliar with the Trust product. I was responding to the image in the original post. I believe there are some converter boxes that will work. I have seen links to them in the T6x series forum.

I'd be vary of single-cable converters. As GomJabbar mentioned, they require smartness from sending hardware.
I can, however, testify that AverKey Lite actually works. I used it for a while on my X30.
