I came home the other night to find my x32 on the table, resting ontop of a smelly puddle of cat urine. After cleaning the mess, i turn on the laptop with crossed fingers and everything seems ok. Infact, everything is perfect (except for the heat-activated odor).
A few days later I goto charge the laptop and nothing happens. I try the dock, i try switching batteries, nothing happens. I figure the circuitry is corroded with acidic cat urine, so i disassemble the whole laptop and give it the rubbing alcohol treatment. Still no charge.
What really ticks me off is the fact that the laptop still functions on the remaining battery life...5%. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Im THIS close to scrapping the parts and auctioning them off ebay.
x32 wont charge (battery not dead) very strange, ANGRY @ cat
What did you do to anger the cat
I remember two personal incidents involving cat urine.
The first one was with the family cat which used to sleep in my room when I was an adolescent. One night the cat was meowing and jumping up on the bed then going back to the bedroom door to be let out. I was very sleepy and pretended not to wake. After several minutes of this, the cat urinated on my head! What could I do? The cat did give me fair warning.
In the second incident I was a teenager home at the parents house for the weekend. I was helping my mom out in the backyard, which was fenced in with a 4' high chain-link fence. The neighbor's cat from the house behind us was in our backyard. I don't remember exactly why now, but I did not want the neighbor's cat in our yard. I shooed and chased the cat out of the yard. A few minutes later when I wasn't paying attention, the cat came back, and from a few feet away, lifted his leg and directed a stream of urine right on me!

I would pay special attention to the battery connection. Perhaps you can get some contact cleaner at Radio Shack and clean the contacts on both the battery and the X32. I would start looking for a new computer and a new cat.
