Blue screen when opening X40 (ialmrnt5?)

#1 Post by khaverblad » Tue Jul 17, 2007 4:48 pm

During the last couple of month I have had problem with a X40 (2386-H4G) when open the lid the system hangs/crashes. The odd thing that the sleep mode and everything else that could put the system in waiting state has been disabled.

It all started couple of month ago after using the ThinkVantage system upgrade - so guess that there is some driver or something that screwed up the system.

And finally, today the system showed a blue screen telling to update the drivers for the system. The only specific driver info that I could take notice of was ialmrnt5. So now at least I know that it's related to the Intel video driver; but there is no update from Lenovo since I have the latest (v6.14.10.3943) available from them.

Are other having the same issue.

You should roll your video driver back to an older version.

You could also consider Windows XP "System Restore" back to when you had a good operating laptop.

If that does not work...then consider removing the new Intel video driver and then let Windows XP install the native XP driver. That worked for me on my Z61t.
